Unisys Corporation, the global $4-billion technology solutions provider, has planned a major push to offer its security solutions in India, as an answer to the growing use by staffers of personal devices for official purposes.
John Kendall, director of the National Security Program, Unisys Asia Pacific, said a growing concern among Indian companies is that employees store a huge amount of official data on their personal devices. "And, most of them do not change their passwords regularly, making it easy for hackers to retrieve confidential (company) data. It is in this segment that Unisys is increasing its focus by offering solutions," he said.
According to Kendall, to harness the full power of this new wave of productivity, organisations need to be able to manage and support these popular consumer technologies, while securing critical data and assets against hackers, viruses, identity thieves and other consumer IT threats. “The solutions should offer the interactive ‘app’ experiences that consumers look for when transacting with suppliers, handle the expected four-fold increase in transaction load that these new interactive experiences will impose on the IT infrastructure and attract and retain the new generation of workers entering the workforce,” he noted.
One offer is Unisys Security Advisory Services. “This offering enables people and organisations to securely conduct business over open networks. It enables mutual authentication of the parties, providing a method to protect the integrity of information and enables transactions to be secure and reputable,” he said.
