Reliance Infocomm is planning to use its 240 WebWorld centers across the country to allow candidates to email video resumes. |
Each Reliance WebWorld has around 25 computers. A candidate simply needs to sit at a computer with a camera. Computers in WebWorld centers have an application which allows you to save your video resume on the desktop. You can then email your video resume as an attachment along with your text resume if you wish. |

The story does not end here. Once recorded, one can see a replay of the recording. If one is not satisfied, one can go for as many trials until the "perfect" recording is achieved. Only that you have to shell out extra money for it. |

Sarup Chowdhary, CEO, Reliance Webworld, says, "There are two options as far as who would be paying for the video resume. Either the companies interested in hiring, or the candidates themselves, have to pay for it." |
For instance, last month, a Pune-based BPO company EXL sponsored an online gaming championship with the help of Reliance WebWorld in the Maharashtra and Goa circles. |
The event pulled a young crowd of 3500 participants from cities including Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Solapur, Goa, Amravati and Pune. For this, the company asked every candidate to record a two-minute resume to register for the game. EXL has proposed to scrutinise the prospective candidates further. |
Reliance Infocomm expects the video resume to simplify the recruitment process while simultaneously enabling the candidate to express her/his capabilities more effectively than the text resume. |
