Moving ahead from being the sole value-added distributor in India for Nasdaq-listed Blue Coat Systems of California, Ahmedabad-based Virtual Netcomm Pvt. Ltd. is now eyeing foray into the Asia Pacific region sans Japan and Australia.

Having bagged distribution rights for seven more network, security and video conferencing global brands including Barracuda Networks, Enterasys, P2Cache, Palo Alto Networks, Radvision and Ruckus Wireless, Virtual Netcomm is planning to expand its footprints around the Indian sub-continent, including South East and North East Asia, Middle East and Europe.

After a slowdown in 2009, the year 2010 has seen successful consolidation for Virtual Netcomm which added Dubai, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the UK to its footprint kitty, apart from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Buoyed by the expansion of its footprint, the $20 million (Rs 90 crore approx.) company expects to double its turnover for the financial year 2010-11.

Going forward, the company intends to focus on networking, security and video conferencing devices. "Apart from scouting for network security brands, we are also betting big on other kinds of products like storage and video conferencing. We have already bagged Radvision, a video conferencing solutions client for distribution rights. There is a lot of scope for video conferencing in this part of the world, since India itself is growing at 100 per cent per annum in this segment," said Rajendra Shah, director and group chief executive officer, Virtual Netcomm Pvt. Ltd.

Talking about the company's future plans, Shah also said, "While expansion of our product portfolio is on, our next step will be to move into services like solution architecturing, remote support to IT hardware, and other professional services for large projects. Through a new company Virtual UK Pvt. Ltd. in the UK, we intend to cater the European market for services. In near future, we hope to tap the Asia Pacific region, sans Japan and Australia. This obviously includes China as part of our plans as well."

Virtual Netcomm caters to large enterprises, as well as BPOs, banks and insurance companies. Sometime back, the company began offering products to the small and medium business (SMBs) for which it offers Blue Coat and Palo Alto at a starting price of Rs 2.5 lakh.
