The Hyderabad Advance Technology Centre (ATC) of Virtusa Corp, a global software development and IT services company, has announced that it has received the BS 7799 certification, a global standard for information security management system, from the British Standards Institution (BSI). |
The certification covers the management of information security in the design, testing and maintenance of software and organisation-specific software platform, a press release said. |

BS 7799 certification provides independent verification of an organisation's compliance with specific standards and procedures concerning the protection and management of sensitive customer information. |

BS 7799 contains a number of control objectives including security policy, organisational security, asset classification and control, personnel security, physical and environmental security, communications and operations management, access control, system development and maintenance, business continuity management and compliance. |
