Telecom and internet major Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) has posted a net profit of Rs 9.52 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 142 crore for the corresponding period last year. The company recorded a marginal increase in revenues for the qaurter under review at Rs 1,113.5 crore as against Rs 1,112 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2006.Recently VSNL sold off 10% stake in its wholly owned subsidiary VSNL Lanka to Sunshine Holdings for Rs 7.5 crore. The Tata group company has sold 15.17 lakh shares to the Sri Lankan business conglomerate.
