The US-based enterprise infotech security company Websense has introduced its cloud-based solution for domestic companies in India. It will offer cloud-based security-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to Indian companies, facilitating locally hosted security solutions necessary for data compliance.
The firm will be investing Rs 4.5 crore in the solution. This new facility supports cloud and hybrid web security as well as cloud and hybrid email security, delivering protection within the country. The Indian enterprise security market is estimated at roughly USD 150 million
"We already have 1,000 non-cloud customers here. We think migrating to a cloud-based subscription services like SaaS could bring down cost of ownership by roughly to around 40 per cent," said JohnMcCormack, President of Websense.
The company plans to sell licences based on an annual subscription model to enterprises.

India is an important market for us in Asia and we are seeing a global increase in demand for our security solutions in the cloud. According to the company, with this infrastructure, web and email security services can be deployed across large and small offices located around the world in minutes.
