Xerox's ConnectKey technology promises to be a new avatar of printing tech

Xerox on Tuesday launched its new avatar.  They are expanding the scope of what a multi function printers (MFPs) can do in the work place. Through its ConnectKey technology, which is enabled in 14 devices, they are adapting to the new business model, on the go and through the cloud.

With @PrintByXerox app, a free mobile cloud printing solution, employees and visitors can securely print from any mobile or device to an MFP by way of a single email address.

With QR Code app, users can connect and pair to a ConnectKey-enabled MFP with a simple scan of a QR code from their phone or tablet to effortlessly print and scan documents.

Xerox Easy Translation Service app, helps users translate content of documents. If you want to translate an English document to French, through this app you can get a translated printour. You dont have to work on translation. Right now, Xerox supports 36 languages, and Indian languages will also be added to the list shortly.

Xerox App Studio 3.0 allows channel partners to build and tailor MFPs .

Also there would be prelauded apps into the interface. Users can use can have 36 apps at a time in their interface.

There is no limit to the number of users that can connect to the printer. If in an enterprise there are 600 employees all can connect to the devices, with the permission of the management, even guests can use these functions. These printers have McAfee, and the Xerox says because data leak won't happen from these applications. Xerox is using Microsoft Azure for cloud storage.

The MFPs built on this platform will provide a critical advantage to enterprises as well as small and medium-sized businesses. It allows businesses to go beyond printing, scanning, faxing and copying, and gives channel partners the tools they need to capture new recurring revenue streams,” said Balaji Rajagopalan, executive director of technology in Xerox India.
