Xius Limited, the telecom division of Chennai-based Megasoft Limited, has entered into a global partnership with Los Angeles-based voice termination services company, Telecom New Zealand International (TNZI). |
The partnership will cover several revenue-enhancing technologies to provide global roaming footprint, interoperability, infrastructure, next-generation pre-paid roaming and IN solutions to mobile network operators (MNOs) and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). |
Announcing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, GV Kumar, managing director and chief executive of Megasoft, said TNZI had chosen Xius to offer interoperability and infrastructure solutions including the highly-successful Xius InstaRoam to some of its offshore properties and also to emerging MNOs and MVNOs at a global level. |
"Under this relationship, Xius will be the technology provider and will jointly host and maintain the entire suite of services, while TNZI will market the solutions," he added. |
Terming the partnership with TNZI as an important milestone for Megasoft towards its aim of becoming an IP-driven technology solutions company, Kumar said that the initiative was based on a revenue-sharing model from which the company was expecting to generate revenues in the excess of $4 million in the first year. |
"Our revenue outlook from the initiative is between $8 million and $10 million per year thereon,' he said. |
Kumar said that TNZI was setting up an infrastructure hub in Los Angeles for the initiative, at an investment of around $ 15 million. |
"Megasoft has already deployed a three-member team in Los Angeles, while 18 employees have been working in India to provide back-office operations for the project. We have plans to expand this headcount to 100 in the next 10 months," he said. |
