The Mumbai-based travel major Ramachand group has launched xplorz.com, an online real time flight, hotel and car booking engine, in collaboration with Interglobe Technology Quotient (ITQ). |
The online travel company would source search techniques for fares and schedules through Galileo global distribution system (GDS). |
xplorz.com will be a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ramchand group, which has been a strong player in the travel industry through Tulip Travels, for the last 17 years. |
"The portal will give competitive public and private fares as well as special negotiated fares for its customers. There will be original price and negotiated final price displayed on the website," Xplorz.com chief executive officer Vikram Ramchand said. |
Ramchand said: "A passenger can avail 30 to 40 per cent savings while booking a ticket via xplorz.com. The portal will only display available fares post negotiation." |
This portal will be the only online e-ticket provider in India whereby the customer can print his own e-ticket online and fly within two hours of booking, he said. |
Ramchand said the company was in talks with domestic and international carriers for special tie-up to avail a passenger more negotiated fares. |
Globally, online travel market is expected to corner 28 per cent of the total travel trade by 2007, with total sales of $ 25.6 billion. This will be a growth of 112 per cent from 2004. |
