Zee Network on Monday launched its new channel in Indonesia, which will be dubbed in Bahasa, the local language.

The company also plans to introduce one hour band in Malaysia with subtitles in Bahasa. Next on the agenda is beaming the Zee channel in Afghanistan and Thailand.

Dheeraj Kapuria, CEO, Zee International Operations, said, "We are optimistic about the popularity of this channel, as our viewers in Malaysia and Indonesia will now be able to enjoy the content of Zee in their local languages."

Kapuria heads the international operations of Zee Network. Zee Network will get half of the advertisement revenue, while the remaining half will go to Astro, the local network in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Astro will pay a markup over the input cost to Zee. For Zee, the costs entail the processes of programming, dubbing and transmission.

The channel's content will be sourced from the library of Zee group's Hindi channel, which will be localised with Bahasa Indonesia dubbing and Bahasa Melayu subtitling.
