According to a Chinanews.com news, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) of China has imposed temporary anti-dumping duty on tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) imports from India. Importers of Indian TBHQ should submit cash deposits to Chinese customs from Wednesday (April 30, 2014), the MOC said.

As per the report, the Ministry's investigations found that tertiary butylhydroquinone from India has been dumped into the Chinese market and such imports have caused substantial damage to the domestic industry.

The MOC had launched an anti-dumping probe into imported Indian TBHQ on August 22 last year. Tertiary butylhydroquinone is a kind of antioxidant, which can be used in instant noodles, bacon, dried food cans and fried food.
