With the rising demand for eco-friendly paints in India, Clariant is eyeing huge growth potential for its innovative range of pigments in India. "The industry is witnessing a boom in sustainable, yet cutting-edge coatings. As a result of our robust product portfolio, we have been able to propel ourselves towards a more innovation-driven business and become better equipped to deliver high quality and tailor-made solutions for our customers,” said Nitin Vaidya, senior technical manager – coatings, BU pigments, Clariant India, while presenting a technical paper on 'Innovative approach to colorants' at the recently concluded biennial conference of the Indian Paint & Coating Association (IPCA).
Highlighting its specialised range of innovative and sustainable pigments and pigment preparations at the conference, Clariant emphasised on its pigment preparations that offer low volatile organic compounds (LVOC) attributes, infrared (IR)-reflective properties and super-transparent colorant solutions.
“LVOC pigment preparations range, which is a local innovation for India caters to the rising demand for decorative paints, with low impact on the environment. IR-reflective range is suited for high-rise towers and roof-tops, offering long-lasting exterior finishes. Also, it contributes to substantial cooling and offers aesthetically pleasing effects. Hostatint A 100-ST range, the newly-developed global range of super-transparent pigment preparations offers brilliant metallic effect shades to high end consumer goods (mobile phones, cameras, computers etc), two wheelers and wood coatings,” said the company in a press release.
Tej Dialani, regional marketing & sales director – coatings, BU pigments, India Region, said, “By utilising the expertise of our strong network, deep market penetration and innovative product pipeline, Clariant in India is able to appreciate, and therefore better support the unmet needs of regional customers across several market segments of the paints & coatings industry. This is leading towards creating an additional value proposition and thus successfully meeting our customers’ goals and expectations.”
At the event, Clariant also received the 'Star of IPCA award' as recognition for its dedication, outstanding service and consistent quality of the products that it offers to the paints & coatings industry.
