Krishak Bharati Cooperative Ltd (Kribhco), a leading fertiliser, seeds and bio-fertiliser producer in the cooperative sector, has given Rs 19.50 crore dividend for 2012-13 to the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. B D Sinha, Managing Director, Kribhco, presented the dividend cheque of Rs 19.50 crore to the Union Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Srikant Jena, on January 30, 2014.
Kribhco, since its commercial operations from 1986-87, has been consistently earning profit and paying dividend to its equity holders - Member societies and Government of India. The society declared a dividend at the rate of 20% for the year 2012-13 amounting to Rs 78.03 crores out of which Rs 19.50 crore is being paid to Government of India.
The Society is one of the cheapest urea producers in the country, receiving least subsidy from Government of India. During the year (2012-13) Society has earned pre-tax profit of Rs 364.88 core and post tax profit of Rs 295.55 crore.
