The Hyderabad-based Southern Online Bio Technologies Ltd (SBT) has received orders to supply biodiesel in Andhra Pradesh and construct a biodiesel plant at Raipur (Chhattisgarh). The company has received an order for supplying biodiesel (B-100) towards annual requirement for 10 percent blend from Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) for its 78 depots.
In addition, Southern Online Bio Technologies has received a letter of acceptance from Indian Railways Organisation for Alternate Fuels (IRAOF), Ministry of Railways, for execution of balance work of setting up automated 30 tonne per day (TPD) biodiesel plant on turnkey basis at Raipur (Chhattisgarh) along with subsequent operation, maintenance and supply of biodiesel to Indian Railways. SBT has already constructed a 30 TPD biodiesel plant for IROAF at Tondiarpet, Chennai.
Meanwhile, Southern Online Bio Technologies announced that it has commenced commercial production at its biodiesel unit at Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), which was effected due to Hudhud cyclone in October 2014.
SBT, which ventured into biodiesel production business in 2003, has two biodiesel plants at Nalgonda (Telangana) and Visakhaptnam (Andhra Pradesh) having capacity of 36 TPD and 250 TPD, respectively.
