Dorf Ketal Chemicals India Private Limited, a provider of formulated specialty chemicals to the downstream hydrocarbon markets, has acquired Filtra Catalysts and Chemicals Ltd, the Thane (Maharashtra) based diversified producer of petrochemical and general catalysts.
 
Filtra is a leading producer of adsorbents and catalysts for downstream hydrocarbon industries such as oil refineries, petrochemicals and fertiliser plants. In addition, Filtra also specialises in coatings for electrical steel besides manufacturing a range of specialty chemicals for various industries. It has a strong export base and annualised revenue in the range of $ 10-15 million.
 
Filtra employs close to 200 professionals with a fully functional R&D facility and two manufacturing plants at Ambernath (close to Mumbai) and Lote (on the Mumbai Goa Highway).

These chemicals also serve the global fuel additives market with a broad portfolio of products and services and the grease and lubricant market with component additives.
 
Dorf Ketal, the market leader in organic titanate and zirconate technologies, has three manufacturing facilities in India and a plant in Brazil, with contract manufacturing in the US and the Netherlands.
 
At Mundra (Gujarat), it manufactures organic titanates and process chemicals. The company's Taloja plant, near Mumbai, manufactures process chemicals for the refining and petrochemical industries. The Dadra plant in Gujarat produces organic titanates and polyvinyl formal (PVF). In Brazil, Dorf Ketal’s Porto Alegre facility manufactures specialty chemicals for hydrocarbon industries.
