VA Tech Wabag bags Rs 100-cr sewage treatment order in Philippines

Wabag has already executed three projects in Philippines at Bagbag, Tatalon and Don Imelda and is currently executing two large projects at Illugin and Putatan

VA Tech Wabag, the Chennai-based solution provider for water and wastewater treatment, bagged an order from Maynilad Water Services, Philippines, for construction of 20 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) at Tunasan. The project is funded by World Bank and the order value is approximately Rs 100 crore.
 
After designing and building the plant, Wabag will operate and maintain the plant for a period of one year as part of the contract. According to VA Tech Wabag, this project is unique since this STP is to be constructed to handle wastewater flowing into the Laguna Lake, which is one of the biggest alternate drinking water sources of Philippines. Wabag has already executed three projects in Philippines at Bagbag, Tatalon and Don Imelda and is currently executing two large projects at Illugin and Putatan.
 
Coleridge Shelley, Director - Wabag Philippines, said, "Wabag, within a few years of its existence in Philippines, has carved a niche in water and wastewater treatment market and repeat orders from the existing clients go to prove that Wabag is a trusted partner in Philippines in the water treatment space."
