Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has successfully commissioned another 660 MW coal-based supercritical thermal unit in Uttar Pradesh (UP). The unit has been commissioned at the upcoming 3 x 660 MW Prayagraj Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) at Bara in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The units are successfully operating at maximum load as permitted by the grid.

One more 660 MW unit at Lalitpur and two units of 660 MW each at Bara are also in advanced stage of construction. In addition, one 500 MW unit at Anpara Thermal Power Station in Uttar Pradesh is also nearing completion. All these units executed by BHEL will significantly improve the power availability in Uttar Pradesh.
