Ceat begins construction work for tyre making unit in Nagpur

Ceat Ltd, the flagship company of RPG Enterprises, has commenced construction work for its new tyre manufacturing unit in Buti Bori near Nagpur. The company is investing Rs 420 crores in the plant, which will manufacture 2-3 wheeler tyres and have a capacity of 120 metric tonne per day. The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, laid the cornerstone for the plant that will be set up in three phases.
 
Anant Goenka, Managing Director, Ceat, said, "With this plant we are looking to double our capacities within two years. This will give us the added impetus to increase our market share. Butibori gives us great advantage of reduced logistics cost and a plant in a central location."
