Dassault Systemes, the France-based provider of 3D design software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, plans to offer ‘PLM as a Service’ to Indian enterprises and SMEs to boost its growth prospects in India. Dassault Systems, which recently concluded its annual 3DEXPERIENCE Forum 2014 in India, is set to lay emphasis on empowering India’s SME sector with affordable, next generation Product Lifecycle Management solutions over the cloud architecture. “It will bring the value proposition of enterprise solutions to SMEs as well. The company believes that as a nation, India has huge potential in the manufacturing segment which needs to be realised,” said the company in a press release.
The event emphasised the criticality of manufacturing for the growth of the Indian economy. It looked at the challenges which this segment is facing and caving under. It emphasised that it is time for the segment to look at relevant technology to help it reinvent itself so that it can leverage a stupendous opportunity of growth awaiting it. “Innovation is the key to the adoption of global best practices and succeeding in an experiential economy. The experience economy is revolutionising the way companies deliver products to their consumers, and this is causing an upheaval in the industry. India needs the entire manufacturing set up to acknowledge this change and align itself to this new reality,” added Dassault press release.
Dassault Systemes, which has a base of more than 4000 customers in the SME segment within India, is looking forward to target the Indian SME segment with its PLM solutions, over cloud infrastructure. This strategy to deliver the solutions via cloud will considerably reduce the cost of accessing software that is so critical for manufacturing segment.
