Eveready Industries India Ltd has bagged order worth Rs 17.94 crores from Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a joint venture of state-run power companies, for supply of 13 lakh LED tube lights. “The company has obtained a letter of award from Energy Efficiency Services Ltd for design and supply of 20 W external batten LED tube light on pan India basis,” said Eveready in a press statement.
EESL - a joint venture firm formed by NTPC Limited, PFC, REC and Power Grid Corporation of India to facilitate implementation of energy efficiency projects - works as energy services company (ESCO) giving consultancy for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), energy efficiency, etc. Besides, it leads the market-related actions of the National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency (NMEEE) - one of the eight missions under the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC). EESL is also responsible for implementation of Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP).
