JBM Auto Ltd, an auto component maker, has tied up with Polish automotive company Solaris Bus & Coach for manufacturing electric and hybrid buses. “The company has entered into a joint venture agreement on July 14, 2016 with Solaris Bus & Coach SA, Poland, for the purpose of manufacturing of electric and hybrid buses,” said JBM Auto in a BSE filing yesterday.
Solaris Bus & Coach, a family company founded and owned by Solange and Krzysztof Olszewski, is a major European producer of city, intercity and special-purpose buses as well as low-floor trams. Since the start of production in 1996, over 12 000 vehicles have already been delivered to customers across 29 countries from the factory in Bolechowo near Poznan. It has emerged as the leading supplier of city buses in Poland as well as one of the largest suppliers of buses in Germany.
