As part of its expansion plans in India, Kokuyo Camlin, one of the leading manufacturers of stationery products in India, has started construction work for its new facility at Patalganga, Maharashtra. The facility, constructed over 14 acres, will be one of the biggest facilities for Kokuyo worldwide.
The upcoming facility - which will manufacture markers, mechanical pencils, fine leads, pens and other stationery products - is expected to commence its operations in 2016.
With the new facility, Kokuyo Camlin plans to restructure and streamline production thereby reducing cost and aims to consolidate and enhance existing production capacity. The facility will be environment friendly as the company plans to use solar energy and water conservation systems in the new plant.
Takeo Iguchi, Executive Director, Kokuyo Camlin, said, "This new facility will be a boost to our expansion plans and also help in streamlining and restructuring our current production units across the state."
In October 2011, Japan’s Kokuyo S&T had acquired the majority stake in Camlin Limited.
