Mindteck, which provides product engineering solutions and information technology services, is collaborating with a global diversified technology and industrial leader for designing and developing a Wi-Fi thermostat for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) control.
The thermostat will have the latest technologies, including a touch screen user interface, Wi-Fi-based wireless control, remote upgradability, proximity detection and scheduling, and cloud connectivity. This will enable multiple users to operate the product using Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi direct via any mobile device with Android, iOS and Windows platforms; web application for PCs and laptops are also supported. This is part of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm and supports data reporting and cloud control. The design technology enables access-from-anywhere thermostat and enhanced user experience.
Yusuf Lanewala, chairman and managing director, Mindteck, commented, “We are very excited about this collaboration, particularly since we are bringing new life to a century-old product. Our IoT expertise, together with our expert design team, will ensure a very suitable and robust product for the era at hand.”
