RCI Industries & Technologies Ltd, a manufacturer of copper & copper alloy products, will invest Rs 50 crores to expand its manufacturing facility in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh).

The company has two manufacturing plants in Himachal Pradesh at Nalagarh and Baddi. The Baddi plant currently has a capacity of 3,000 MT per annum. Post expansion, the total installed capacity will become 24,000 MT per annum for copper & copper alloys products and 1,800 MT per annum for stainless steel products. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of Q1FY18.

This expansion is in line with RCI Industries’ growth strategy to cater to the huge opportunity and demand that is prevalent in the copper industry. It will also help the company to introduce new value-added products, thus widening its product suite, thereby entering new industrial segments.

“This capacity expansion will be a huge advantage to our company, wherein we will be able to offer newer higher quality products widening our product suite, thereby not only attract new customers but also enter different industry sectors. We are also planning to enter into the defence and mint industries through bidding for tenders. Once this expansion is complete, we will substitute imports and also export products from this plant,” commented Rajiv Gupta, managing director, RCI Industries & Technologies.
