The Vadodara-based Alembic Pharmaceuticals’ net profit after tax was up by 25 per cent to Rs 77.3 crore in the second quarter of FY15 against Rs 61.6 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Net sales grew by 13 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 548.8 crore.
Alembic’s profit before tax was up by 19 per cent to Rs 95.7 crore against Rs 80.5 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company also reported 14 per cent increase in revenue for first half of operations to Rs 1044.9 crore against Rs 916.5 crore corresponding first half last year. It posted 28 per cent growth in profit before tax at Rs 180.6 crore for first half against Rs 141 crore for corresponding first half last year.
Alembic reported 31 per cent growth in net profit for first half at Rs 141.9 crore.
The India branded formulations business posted sales of Rs 275.5 crores against Rs 234.1 crores with a 18 per cent growth over the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Specialty and acute segments grew by 18 per cent and 17 per cent respectively in current quarter. International generic formulation posted growth of 9 per cent and posted sales of Rs 123.4 crore against Rs 113.7 crore over the corresponding quarter last year.
