Granules-OmniChem Pvt Ltd – a joint venture between Hyderabad-based Granules India Ltd and Belgian firm Ajinomoto OmniChem – inaugurated a manufacturing facility for high-value active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on February 20, 2015. Ajinomoto OmniChem, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ajinomoto Co Inc, is one of the leading global producers of fine chemicals for the pharmaceutical companies for more than 30 years.
“We are pleased to successfully cross the first milestone of our joint venture with Ajinomoto Omnichem. Our partnership has a distinct advantage as it combines two companies that are known for their high quality products, extensive technological expertise and operational efficiency,” said Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, chairman & managing director of Granules India Ltd.
The plant, is designed and built to manufacturing high-quality APIs for global markets, was inaugurated by M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister for Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs.
