Natural Capsules Ltd, the supplier of gelatin and cellulose capsule shells to pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors, will spend Rs 25 crores for expanding its gelatin capsules capacity at its two manufacturing sites in Pondicherry and Bangalore.
 
The company will enhance manufacturing capacity of gelatin capsules at its Pondicherry unit from present capacity of 6.1 billion to 8.36 billion capsules per annum by modification of existing manufacturing lines at an approximate cost of Rs 10 crores. Project, which will be implemented over the next 30 months, will be funded through internal accruals.
 
At Bangalore, Natural Capsules will invest Rs 15 crores in upgrading its manufacturing facility and converting the existing three gelatin capsules lines there to HPMC (vegetarian) capsules lines, with a capacity of 1.2 billion capsules. The company proposes to fund the project, which will be implemented over a period of next 30 months, through a combination of internal accruals and debt.
