Axiall Corporation, an integrated chemicals and building products company, on February 25, 2016 signed two agreements to sell its window & door profiles business and certain assets of its compound additives business to OpenGate Capital and Galata Chemicals, respectively. With these divestitures of non-core assets, Axiall aims to better focus on its core chloro-vinyls and derivatives businesses.
The deal with OpenGate for window and door profiles business, a component of Royal Building Products, includes Axiall’s compounding facility located in Concord, Ontario. As a North American market leader in innovation of vinyl profiles extrusion, the business provides quality custom profiles systems and platform products to meet the needs of window manufacturers across North America. The business works closely with customers to design products that meet the needs of their markets.
Axiall has sold certain assets of its compound additives business, known as Solucor, and its manufacturing facility located in Bradford, Ontario, to Galata Chemicals. The Bradford facility manufactures high-quality additives for rigid PVC applications, focusing on a broad mix of process aids and impact modifiers, among other products.
Galata Chemicalsis a leading supplier of plastic additives with a comprehensive portfolio of organotin heat stabilisers, mixed metal heat stabilisers, epoxidised soybean oil, bio-based plasticisers, organotin catalysts, and polymer modifiers.
