Tokyo-based Toray Industries Inc has confirmed its participation at the upcoming Plastindia 2015, the international plastics exhibition & conference to be held from February 5-10, 2015 in Gandhinagar (Gujarat).
At the exhibition this year, Toray, which also participated in the previous edition in 2012, will display high heat and chemical resistant polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resin used in turbo-related parts and cooling module parts for environmentally friendly automobiles; high-performance acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resins, boasting superior coating, antistatic, chemical resistant, and original metallic colour, used in a wide-range of applications including home electronic appliances, automobiles and motorcycles; environmentally friendly high barrier film; high-performance release film; and carbon fibre composite materials.
Under the medium-term management program Project AP-G 2016 launched in April 2014, Toray is working on one of its growth strategies, the Asia, America and Emerging Country Business Expansion (AE-II) Project to actively pursue Toray Group’s businesses in Asia, Americas and emerging countries in other regions, where significant economic growth is expected. Among the target countries, India is positioned as an important market where substantial growth is anticipated.
In 2011, the group established Toray International India Pvt Ltd in Mumbai as a trading subsidiary, and parent Toray in the same year also opened a representative office in Gurgaon, which became a local subsidiary Toray Industries (India) Pvt Ltd in 2014. Furthermore, it established an airbag fabric manufacturing and distribution company in Mumbai in September 2014, as part of active moves seeking marketing and business expansion in the country.
