Skipper Limited, one of the leading players in power transmission & distribution and plastic pipes & fittings sectors, has commissioned its second plant in Guwahati having capacity to manufacture 30,000 tonnes of engineering products and 7000 tonnes of polymer products. The company has invested approximately Rs 70 crores for the new plant.
The current capacity of the engineering products division is set to increase from 200,000 metric tonne per annum (MTPA) to 230,000 MTPA and the polymer division will grow from 41,000 MTPA to 48,000 MTPA. The manufacturing plant, situated in Palashbari (Assam), is spread over nearly 7.40 acres more or less of land, and caters to both the engineering & polymer fittings unit.
Sharan Bansal, director, Skipper Ltd. said, “Our new plant in Guwahati shares Skipper’s stringent quality standards with other plants around the country. Currently, Skipper has three manufacturing units in Howrah for its engineering products segment in West Bengal and five units for polymer segment in Uluberia (Howrah), Guwahati, Sikandrabad, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
