NTA has just released Official Mock Tests on their website (nta.ac.in) for CUET (UG) - 2022. These CUET mock tests (can be found under the “For NTA Mock Tests of December 2018 onwards, please click here” section) are provided for several Section II domain and Section I Language subjects.
If you look closely into these Mock Tests (see screenshot below), there are several new types of MCQs that were only asked in CBSE Class 10 and 12 boards until now.
These questions form a detailed paper pattern, especially for domain subjects, that the students must now follow at any cost.
All these CUET Mock Tests, set in CBT mode, are presumably the same as CBSE Sample Papers or CISCE Specimen Papers released every year before board exams. For this, students can practise as many questions as they want from this specific set of CUET practice paper books made available in collaboration with Educart. We will move on to the “Why” in a minute.
According to the screenshots above, these MCQs are of medium level difficulty (like NCERT Exemplar and entrance exams like NEET), some percent of which are based on case studies, statements, and tables and data as well as per other Mock tests.
For example, take a look at the number and typology of MCQs in certain Section II domain subject Mock Tests, such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
CUET (UG) - 2022 Section II DOMAIN SUBJECT | ||
MCQs Typology | No. of MCQs | Total Marks |
Assertion/ Reason Incorrect Statement | 4 MCQs | 20 |
Table-based Match the Following | 2 MCQs | 10 |
Case-based | 10 MCQs (2Q with 5 MCQs each) | 50 |
TOTAL MARKS | 200 (40 out of 50 MCQs) |
Blueprint with typology and number of MCQs according to the Official NTA CUET 2022 Mock Tests
Similar pattern has been observed in other Domain subjects including Commerce and Humanity with a few differences here and there.
So, only these extra practice mock papers for CUET will help out students because they are the only books exactly based on the above pattern concluded from the Official CUET Mock Tests.

The NTA Mock Tests have just recently been uploaded and these Educart books (as seen above) have already included them with solutions. How Educart managed to get access to these official mock tests of CUET 2022 that are just uploaded on the NTA platform is very interesting. Because except Educart, all other books and mock test series released by other publishers and ed-tech platforms are based on an old pattern and a pure guesswork with no new typology of MCQs (like match the following, case-based, etc) included that will be asked in the July 2022 paper.
So far, only these CUET books from Educart have added new typology of MCQs (case-based, match the following, assertion/ reason and statement-based) in their solved and unsolved CUET 2022 practice papers.
Even after hosting webinars and making PDF instructions available, students have been struggling with the application process. They are basically unable to figure out specific eligibility criteria for their universities and courses. These outdated books will only add more distress above their 2022 Class 12 board and CUET preparation.
It is quite fascinating to see how Educart has managed to make the latest paper pattern and practice MCQs available for students so their chances of cracking the July 2022 CUET increase.
