In the
second test of the five-match series, Yashasvi Jaiswal's unbeaten 179 helped India post 336/5 at the end of Day 1 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on Friday, February 02nd.
India started the third session with the score at 225/3 and Rajat Patidar and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease. While Patidar got played down off the bowling of Rehna Ahmed, Jaiswal continued to notch up runs and brought up his second 150-plus score in Tests. The dup added 70 for the fourth wicket.

Kona Bharat then partnered Jaiswal and the duo added 29 before Bharat was caught at point. Play continued past 90 overs and Ashwin joined Jaiswal and took India to the end of the day's play with the score at 336/6 in 93 overs.
A total of 111 runs were added in the last session where 30 overs were bowled. India lost three wickets as well.
India vs England 2nd Test: Session 1
Earlier the Indian openers- skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal started on a cautious note. The dup added 23 in the first 10 overs as James Anderson continued to bowl great lengths and troubled Rohit quite a bit, but without much success. Shoaib Bashir, the debutant was then introduced into the attack and it was spin at play from both ends. Bashir claimed his first international wicket as Rohit Sharma was caught in the leg slip by Ollie Pope.
In the first 10 overs came 23 runs and in the next 10 it was 32. Shubman Gill showed much promise in this innings after two continuous failures and managed to stitch together 49 runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the second wicket before Anderson had him caught behind the wicket. Jaiswal reached yet another fifty as he alongside Iyer took India to Lunch at 103/2 after 31 overs of play in the first session.
India vs England 2nd Test: Session 2
India started the second session with Jaiswal and Iyer in the middle with the former having reached his fifty. It was a session dominated by the Indian batting as the two of them added 75 more to their 14-run pre-lunch stand. However, Iyer was caught brilliantly behind the stumps by Foakes off Tom Hartley. But this did not happen before Jaiswal smashed a 151-ball century and continued to take India ahead in the game.
Jaiswal was joined by debutant Rajat Patidar in the middle and the two of them further added 46 runs for the fourth wicket to take India to 225/3 at Tea on Day 1. A total of 122 runs were added in the session in 32 overs.
India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first against England . England is leading the series 1-0. England has announced their Playing 11 a day before of the Test match. They have made two changes in their playing 11 from previous match, bringing in experienced James Anderson and debutant Shoaib Bashir in its Playing 11.
Meanwhile, India made three changes in their Playing 11, bringing in Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav in place of Mohammed Siraj and injured Ravindra Jadeja. Rajat Patidar would play his debut game as he found a place in India's XI, replacing injured KL Rahul.
