Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defended 135 and beat the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 6 runs in a thriller to win the Eliminator of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Friday, March 15 to reach the final. They would face Delhi Capitals in the summit clash on Sunday, March 17 at the same venue. 

The Mumbai chase started well and they were cruising along at 120/3 even after losing wickets at regular intervals. Needing 20 to win off 18 with Harmanpreet Kaur and Amelia Kerr at the crease, it was Mumbai's game to lose and they lost it as well. Shreyanka Patil got Harman out as Mumbai lost three wickets in the next three overs to be restricted to only 129/6 in their 20 overs. 

Apart from Patil, Sophie Molineux and Asha Sobhana bowled the 19th and the 20th over and defended 15 off 12. 

Earlier RCB had managed to post 135/6 in their 20 overs even as they were 49/4 in 9.1 overs at one stage against. Perry was once again the rescuer for the Bangalore side as she added 26 for the fourth wicket with Richa Ghosh, 35 for the fifth wicket with Sophie Molineux and 42 for the sixth wicket with Georgia Wareham to take the side to 135. Perry scored 50-ball 66 and fell in the final over. For Mumbai, Hayley Mathews, Nat-Siver Brunt and Saika Ishaque picked two wickets each. 

RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to bat first. There was only one change in the playing 11 as Yastika Bhatia, who has recovered from her sickness was back for the Mumbai side and she replaced Priyanka Bala as wicket-keeper batter. Bangalore remained unchanged from their last game in which they beat Mumbai comprehensively.
