New Zealand vs Sri Lanka Highlights, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: The Kiwis won the match in just 23.2 overs to boost their net run rate and make sure Pakistan and Afghanistan don't have any chance

New Zealand hammered Sri Lanka by five wickets and most importantly, with 160 balls to spare on Thursday, November 9 in match 41 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, to almost book their place in the semi-final. This has made Pakistan's and Afghanistan's qualification almost impossible given the margins that they have to win by in their last league matches. Chasing the target of 172, the Kiwis were helped by a flying start by their openers and it was carried on by Daryl Mitchell as they reached the target in only 23.2 overs. 
 

Earlier New Zealand dismissed Sri Lanka for 171 in 46.4 overs, thanks to their bowler's amazing showing. Trent Boult led the Kiwi attack with figures of 3/37 while Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner and Rachina Ravindra picked two wickets each and Tim Southee had one. Kusal Perera's 22-ball fifty and the 10th wicket partnership of 43 runs were saving grace for an otherwise disdainful Lankan batting performance. 

Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl first. Both the sides made one change each in the playing 11 as Lockie Ferguson has come in place of Ish Sodhi while Chamika Karunaratne replaced Kasun Rajitha in the Sri Lankan playing 11.
