11.46 am: 24.14% voter turnout recorded till 11 am in Uttar Pradesh. 10.55 am: Yoga guru Ramdev casts his vote at polling booth no.106 in Haridwar. 10.05 am: In the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, 10.75 per cent voter turnout has been recorded.
9.30 am: Chief Electoral Officer Radha Raturi casts her vote at Government Girls Inter College in Dehradun's Kishanpur.
9.21 am: 6 per cent polling recorded in the first hour of the Uttarakhand polls.

8 am: Voting begins in Uttarakhand.

7 am: Voting begins for second phase of Uttar Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh, polling for the second phase is underway in 67 constituencies spread over 11 districts on Tuesday.

The districts going for polls in the second phase include Saharanpur, Bijnore, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri and Badayun.

Barricades have been erected at the entry points of districts where round the clock intense search of vehicles is being carried out by security forces.

Voting begun at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm. There are 721 candidates including 82 women and one from the third gender in the fray in this phase. The fate of these candidates will be decided by 2 crore 28 lakhs voters, of which a sizeable number, 47.72 lakh,  is of young voters, aged 18-19 years.

14, 771 polling centres and 23,693 polling stations have been erected in this phase.

Voting is also underway in 69 of the 70 assembly seats of Uttarakhand amid tight security with people queueing up outside polling booths since early morning to cast their votes.

Polling schedule for Karnaprayag seat in Chamoli district has been revised to March 9 due to the death of BSP candidate Kuldeep Singh Kanwasi in a road accident on Sunday last.

Over 74 lakh voters will seal the fate of 628 candidates in EVM machines between 8 AM to 5 PM when polling concludes, state Election office informed.
