Hunter Biden indicates he won't testify in gun trial

Hunter Biden's defense attorney indicated in court on Monday that the US president's son will not testify in his criminal trial on federal gun charges, CNN reported. Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, agreed to allow the judge in federal court in Delaware to give an instruction to the jury that they should not hold it against him if he does not testify in the case.

Delhi court fixes June 18 for Engineer Rashid's interim bail plea to take oath as MP

 A Delhi court has fixed June 18 to hear arguments on an application filed by Engineer Rashid, arrested in a 2016 Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case, seeking interim bail to take oath as an MP after the recently concluded general elections. Sheikh Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Engineer Rashid, handed defeat to J-K former CM Omar Abdullah from the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat.

Swati Maliwal 'assault' allegations: Delhi Police adds fresh section against Bibhav Kumar

The Delhi Police has added Section 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar in connection with AAP MP Swati Maliwal's assault case. This section  deals with "causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender" and carries a provision for imprisonment of one-sixth of the punishment awarded for the biggest offence in the crime.

Students demand probe into NEET 'irregularities'

Members of Left-affiliated students' unions held a protest near the education ministry today seeking an investigation into the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday said the education ministry has set up a four-member panel to review the grace marks awarded to more than 1,500 candidates in the exam.

Bank fraud case: Supreme Court adjourns to June 18 hearing on AAP MLA's plea challenging his arrest

The top court deferred to June 18 the hearing on Punjab AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra's plea challenging his arrest and remand by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering probe linked to a bank fraud case.

Suspended JD(S) leadert Prajwal Revanna has been sent  to judicial custody till June 24.  Prajwal Revanna, facing charges of rape and sexual abuse of several women, lost the Hassan Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka to Congress' candidate Shreyas M Patel.

The Supreme Court today extended till August 10 the deadline given to the Aam Aadmi Party to vacate its office at Rouse Avenue in Delhi. On March 4, the top court had asked the party to vacate its office by June 15 after noting that the plot was allotted to the Delhi High Court for expanding judicial infrastructure.


At least nine people were killed and 33 injured after a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims, attacked by terrorists,  plunged into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi sunday  evening. A search operation  has been launched  in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi on Monday morning following the attack. The bus was on its way to the Shiv Khori cave temple when it came under attack. As the terrorists opened fire, the bus fell into a gorge. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha assured action against those behind it. "I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on a bus in Reasi. My condolences to the family members of the martyred civilians. Our security forces and JKP have launched a joint operation to hunt down the terrorists," the LG said in a post on X.

After the far-right trounced his centrist alliance in EU polls, French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday declared that he was dissolving parliament and calling snap legislative elections. The outcome of the EU elections, Macron said, is "not a good result for parties who defend Europe."  The first round of polling for the lower house National Assembly will take place on June 30, with the second round on July 7.

An Indian-origin man from Punjab's Ludhiana,  Yuvraj Goyal, was killed in Canada's Surrey on Friday. Yuvraj, 28, worked as a sales executive after arriving in Canada in 2019 on a student visa and had recently received his Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) status.The motive for his murder is being probed, the Royal Canadian Police said.
