Karnal (Haryana), Oct 10 (ANI): The Bharatiya Kisan Union has come out in support of the farmers in Haryana who resorted to stubble burning despite warnings by the government. Speaking on the matter, State President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ratan Mann said the farmers have no option but to burn stubble to be able to sow again and they have decided to continue doing so. He added that Government has made a wrong law and has been sending farmers to jail. The Bharatiya Kisan Union is holding protests at different places and has called for 'Kheti chhoro, jail chalo'. The farmers have started burning crop residue as they prepare their farms for the upcoming rabi crop with harvesting of paddy in full swing. The farmers have warned to continue burning paddy stubble unless the government suitably compensates them for the expenses incurred on alternative methods of disposing of crop residue.
