California (United States), Oct 10 (ANI): A state of emergency in several counties in Northern California occurred as strong winds fan wildfires, killing at least 10 people and forced thousands to flee their homes. Firefighters are up against winds of more than 50 miles per hour as they battle the blaze, which officials say has already racked up the highest wildfire-related death count in a decade. The flames have taken hold of some of California's prime wine country, including Napa, sending a blanket of thick black smoke over the region. So far, 15 separate fires have been identified across more than a hundred square miles.
