While many fans all around the world rejoiced after Argentina’s late equaliser against Morocco, the final update from the officials came after a long gap of 2 hours that the goal would not stand.
According to the officials, the match was suspended after Argentina’s goal due to violent Moroccan supporters trying to attack the players.
However, the play was resumed behind closed doors and a VAR check later ruled out the equaliser as well. After three minutes, the referee ended the game, eventually giving Morocco the 3 points on the day.

Argentina's pressure paid off as Simeone cut Morocco's 2-goal lead into half via a tap-in finish with less than half an hour to go in the game.
