INLD leader Abhay Chautala born on 14 Feb 1963. Son of OP Chautala, five time former CM of Haryana. Grandson of Chaudhary Devi Lal - former dy PM - prominent farmers leader and Jat figure. Will contest to retain his Ellenabad (family stronghold) seat in Sirsa. INLD out of power in Haryana for 20 years. He is Dushyant Chautala's uncle. Dushyant is now with JJP, which split from INLD in 2018. Abhay's father heads INLD; Dushyant's father Ajay Chautala leads JJP.
 
Political career:
Abhay Chautala represented the Ellenabad seat since 2010. Previously, it was held by his father OP Chautala. Abhay Singh unsuccessfully contested Kurukshetra constituency in 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Marked poll debut in 2000 from the Rori constituency. In 2019 polls, INLD won only 1 seat in Haryana: Ellenabad by Abhay. INLD got a 1.74 per cent vote share in the Lok Sabha polls. According to his poll affidavit, he is 10th pass and earns over Rs 1 crore annually. He is known for his work on farmers' issues, and rural development. He will focus to solidify vote bank of Jat community and rural voters.
 
His uncle Ranjit Chautala was a minister in incumbent BJP government but resigned after being denied ticket.

INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala, who is fighting the Lok Sabha polls from Kurukshetra, on Wednesday filed his nomination papers and declared his assets worth more than 45 crore, indicating he is fond of cars. Haryana minister and BJP leader Ranjit Singh Chautala, who filed his nomination from Hisar seat, also declared a few buffaloes and cows among his movable assets. Abhay Chautala is grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal while Ranjit Chautala is Lal's son. In his poll affidavit, Abhay Chautala (60), son of former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, has declared that he has combined movable assets worth Rs 32.61 crore while his wife has Rs 4.38 crore worth assets. He also has immovable assets worth Rs 12.70 crore while the value of such assets owned by his wife is Rs 11 crore. Unidentified assailants shot dead the Indian National Lok Dal's Haryana unit president Nafe Singh Rathee in Jhajjar district on Sunday, according to a senior party leader. Rathee, a former MLA, was travelling in an SUV when the assailants, who were in a car, attacked him in Jhajjar's Bahadurgarh town. INLD leader Abhay Chautala told PTI that Rathee was shot dead in Jhajjar district. He accused the government of failing to provide Rathee with security despite their being threat to his life, and demanded the resignation of the chief minister and the home minister. Police said the investigation in the matter was underway.
