With falling lithium-ion battery prices, electric vehicles can now maintain cost without subsidies but it is for the finance and heavy industries ministries to decide if incentives need to be given to electric vehicles, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday. With the country moving towards becoming a USD 35 trillion economy by 2047, the manufacturing sector is rapidly adopting automation which is expected to increase recruitment of women, helping companies become more inclusive, a TeamLease Services senior executive has said. The government is conducting a pilot project for an automatic number plate recognition system with a view to reducing traffic congestion at toll plazas and charging vehicle owners for the exact distance of cars driven on the tolled highways, Union minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday.
