NHPC on Monday announced a partnership with BEML to jointly explore opportunities for development of desilting and dredging solutions for hydro power plants. Besides, the solutions would help mitigate urban waterlogging during monsoons by swiftly clearing canals and culverts, support dredging and desilting operations in inland waterways, coastal areas, ponds, and lakes, NHPC said in a statement. NHPC and BEML have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to establish strategic cooperation for the development of advanced desilting and dredging solutions tailored for hydroelectric plants, it said. State-owned BEML Ltd on Wednesday said it has secured a Rs 136-crore contract for the supply of indigenously designed High Mobility Vehicles (HMV) 8x8. These vehicles will play a pivotal role in the Battle Field Surveillance System (BFSS) project, reinforcing India's defence capabilities and advancing the government's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the PSU under the Ministry of Defence said. Manufactured at BEML's facilities, the HMV 8x8 is designed to deliver exceptional reliability and versatility, even in the most challenging environments. Key features of these vehicles include an independent suspension system, a high-power air-cooled engine, a central tyre inflation system, an anti-lock braking system and a backbone tube chassis design. State-owned BEML on Thursday said it has secured an order worth Rs 246.78 crore from Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) for the supply of rear dump trucks which are used in mining operations. As part of the order, BEML said it will supply 48 BH60M rear dump trucks, along with spares, and also provide after-sales service support. "BEML has secured a substantial order worth Rs 246.78 crore from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)," it said. The trucks have been developed in-house with features like a 360-degree rear camera for comprehensive visibility and improved safety, an automatic fire suppression system for emergency preparedness, and an auto lube system to ensure seamless maintenance, BEML said in a statement. The company had posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 75.01 crore in the year-ago period, BEML said in a filing to BSE. The consolidated income of the company during the April-June period rose to Rs 634.61 crore over Rs 5,78.11 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the filing said.
