Intel has said on Monday that Prakash Mallya will take over as the managing director for South Asia. Mallya, who joined the US-based semiconductor major in 2000 as business development manager in India for financial services segment, will develop new growth areas in the South Asian region. An electrical engineering graduate and MBA in marketing from Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirapalli, Mallya was Director for Intel's Datacenter Group in Asia before this role. He held different regional positions at the company during the last 16 years across sales, marketing and enablement of Intel products. Mallya has replaced Debjani Ghosh, who will step down by the end of next month to work on projects for Digital India initiative. He will take charge with immediate effect.
