Deloitte India and MEGA, a Bizzdesign company, on Thursday announced a strategic alliance geared to help Indian enterprises strengthen their enterprise architecture and drive digital transformation. By combining Deloitte's Advice-Implement-Operate (AIO) capabilities with MEGA's 'HOPEX platform', the collaboration would look to address the complexities of modern IT landscapes, including managing legacy infrastructure, adopting emerging technologies and overcoming silos across organisations. According to a release, the HOPEX platform integrates strategic planning, process optimisation and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) management into a unified framework. This enables organisations to manage their IT environments more effectively, make informed decisions and navigate regulatory requirements better. "The collaboration will deliver scalable, adaptable solutions that streamline processes, enhance collaboration and reduce operational inefficiencies," the release added.
Tata Electronics on Wednesday said it has appointed Bobby Mitra as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and President of AI and Digital Transformation. In this role, Mitra will drive enterprise-wide initiatives in AI and digital transformation for electronic manufacturing services, semiconductor assembly and test, semiconductor foundry, and design services businesses, it said in a statement. Mitra and his team will be instrumental in advancing Tata Electronics' commitment to AI-led manufacturing excellence, particularly in establishing India's first semiconductor Fab in Dholera, Gujarat and the first indigenous semiconductor assembly and test facility in Jagiroad, Assam. Indian IT major Infosys on Tuesday said it has entered into a long-term collaboration with British community bank Metro Bank to digitise the bank's operations. The collaboration will utilise Infosys Topaz, the firm's AI-first offerings, to enhance Metro Bank's digital capabilities, improve automation, refine data, and embed further AI capabilities. This will assist the bank in increasing efficiency and saving costs, a regulatory filing said. "At the end of this transformation, we will be a very different business, but the true essence of Metro Bank will remain the same -- a high-quality service organisation putting customers centre-stage," Metro Bank CEO Daniel Frumkin said. Vaishnaw, the Minister of Communication, Railways and Electronics & IT, also inaugurated the 'Viksit Bharat Strategy Room' at NITI Aayog. The 'Viksit Bharat Strategy Room' will enable visualization and engagement with insights, sharing of information and knowledge to enable effective in-person decision-making. A multi-sectoral live repository of 7,500 best practices, 5,000 policy documents, over 900 datasets, 1,400 data profiles, and 350 NITI publications will be part of the new platform, according to an official statement. Finnish telecom and IT company Nokia on Monday said it has partnered with Sterlite Technologies (STL), an optical and digital solutions company, to enhance networking and digital solutions for government institutions and enterprises. The partnership will also focus on government-driven connectivity projects to offer connectivity and networking solutions, Noika said in a statement. The Supreme Court on Friday trashed a PIL seeking a direction to the Centre to digitally monitor MPs and MLAs round the clock for better governance, saying "there is something called right to privacy also". A bench comprising Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, Justice J P Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra asked whether the court can put a "chip" in the body of the lawmakers to track their movement round the clock. Search giant Google has come up with a special doodle to mark India's 75th Republic Day, depicting the country's transition from the era of analogue TVs to smartphones. The creative artwork signifies how the ceremonial parade would have been seen on screens across these decades. India became independent in 1947 and a republic on January 26, 1950. From big TV sets with cathode ray tubes to smaller ones and eventually, to smartphones, a lot has changed in India in these years. As part of its digital transformation exercise, insurance behemoth Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is exploring the possibility of setting up a fintech unit. LIC has initiated a total digital transformation project DIVE (Digital Innovation and Value Enhancement) and appointed a consultant to steer the project, LIC Chairman Siddhartha Mohanty told PTI in an interview. "Our objective is to get best in class digital initiatives for all our stakeholders, customers, intermediaries, marketing people and everybody through the project DIVE," he said. In the first phase, the customer acquisition part is going to be transformed, he said. Customer acquisition is done through three modes--agent, bancassurance and direct sale. HCL Technologies on Monday announced that Banco do Brasil has selected it to support the bank's digital transformation and customer relationship management (CRM) journey and implementation of Salesforce. HCLTech's partnership with Salesforce will enable Banco do Brasil to 'hyper-personalise' customer relationship and service solutions, generating greater customer satisfaction and engagement within their omnichannel ecosystem, using AI resources, data unification and intelligent guidelines, a release said. SMFG India Credit Co Ltd (formerly Fullerton India Credit Co Ltd) on Thursday announced the appointment of Swaminathan Subramanian as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Previously, Subramanian was working as Chief People Officer (CPO) at the non-banking financial company.
