Pakistan last won a Test series at home when they beat South Africa 2-0 in February 2021
Pakistan's red-ball format head coach, Jason Gillespie has urged former cricketers to avoid unwarranted criticism of the national team as he believes it can deeply affect the players. Gillespie admitted that the comments former players made in TV shows and Youtube channels indeed bruised the cricketers. I'm very protective of players and very protective of staff I work with and just want to make sure that the environment that we're trying to create is a safe space for everyone and if that gets eroded then that can lead to a bit of frustration, Gillespie told Sky Sports. The former Australian quick asked the players of yesteryears to be more judicious while airing their opinion, especially in social media. A lot of former players have their own space on social media YouTube, whatever, and they're paid to have an opinion. One thing that I have noticed here is that the players notice everything and if they get some positive feedback from former players they idolised as kids, that goe
Have England pulled an ace by playing mind games with Pakistan and pushing them into fielding three spinners on a pitch which could end up not being a slow bowlers paradise at the Rawalpindi cricket stadium? With the three-match Test series poised at 1-1 and the decisive third match, beginning here from Thursday, both the teams seemed to be unclear about the pitch's nature. It is definitely not going to spin from day one like we say when they used the same first Test pitch for the second Test in Multan, a senior ground staff at the Pindi stadium said on condition of anonymity. Pakistan would have been better off playing with two proper pace bowlers. England have the advantage of having two proper pacers (Ben Stokes, Gus Atkinson) but Pakistan will have to rely on just Aamer Jamal, he offered. The staff said the pitch could assist the spinners, but during the last two days. Before that it will be good for batting and pacers will get some help and reverse swing, he said. He also ..
England announced their Playing 11 for the 3rd Test two days before the scheduled start of the match. Pakistan is likely to reveal their Playing 11 today
Pakistan's cricket selectors, Aaqib Javed, Aleem Dar, Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali, are camping here to oversee the preparation of a pitch that offers ample turn in the decisive third and final Test against England starting on Thursday. "The ground staff has been instructed to prepare a pitch that offers plenty of assistance to the spinners as Pakistan wants to attack England again with slow bowlers," a source close to the selectors said. The series is keenly poised with Ben Stokes' England winning the opening Test by an innings and 47 runs, while the hosts, riding on the success of their spinners, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, won the second game by 152 runs. The two Pakistan slow bowlers took all 20 England wickets in the match. The source said that on the instructions of the selectors, the ground staff was using several methods to prepare a dry, spinning track. "They (ground staff) are using large fans, heaters and black cloth to soak the moisture in the surface and keep it as dry as

Brook's mindblowing knock came in the 1st Test against Pakistan in Multan, where he and his compatriot Joe Root ran riot against the Pakistan bowlers on a flat Multan track.

Both Pakistan and England have announced their playing 11 a day before the start of the first Test on Monday
Joe Root on Saturday said beating Pakistan in their backyard remains "challenging" despite England's thumping series victory on the last tour in 2022, as the two teams are set for another three-Test affair starting here on Monday. England swept aside Pakistan 3-0 in a ruthless manner in the winter of 2022 with their "Bazball" approach producing rich results. Root hoped England's series win against Pakistan two years ago would help the visitors formulate their plans, but emphasised that the visitors will have to be at the top of their game. Yes, that series has helped us prepare for the coming matches and we have a plan on how to play here. But this is a new series and we have to play well again to win again in Pakistan, Root told a media conference here on Saturday. "We learnt a few things from that series, but (playing against) Pakistan at home is a challenge. Pakistan can definitely take advantage of their home conditions and we also have a couple of new young players eager to ..
Pakistan Test vice-captain Saud Shakeel wants to focus on his team's performance in the upcoming series against England rather than fret on premier batter Babar Azam's decision to step down from white ball captaincy. On Tuesday, the 29-year-old Babar announced that he was stepping down from the leadership role due to workload and instead wanted to solely focus on his batting. Meanwhile, Shakeel explained that the decisions taken by Babar and national selector Mohammad Yousuf were their personal choices and didn't concern the other players in the team. Our focus right now is on red-ball cricket and this series, which is very important for us. We are playing at home, and we have another chance to end our recent streak of bad results, Saud said in a media session here on Saturday. We want to see Babar at his best; he is a key player for us. We might have discussed these happenings among ourselves as a group. But more importantly, we have been discussing how to win this Test ...

The Cricket Association of Bengal on Saturday requested ICC recce team about concerns raised by local security agencies with regards to World Cup match between Pakistan and England on November 12 coinciding with Kali Puja. If BCCI and ICC have to accommodate another date change, then Pakistn will have a third change in schedule. This is after rescheduling of India vs Pakistan game (October 14 instead of 15 in Ahmedabad) and Sri Lanka vs Pakistan game (now on October 10 in Hyderabad instead of October 12). The Ahmedabad Police had told the BCCI that it would find it difficult to take care of security on October 15 which happens to be the first day of the Hindu festival of Navaratri. England's cricket team arrived in Islamabad early Sunday to play its first test series in Pakistan since 2005. Led by Ben Stokes, England will kick off the tour in Rawalpindi -- an adjacent city to Islamabad -- which hosts the first test from next Thursday. The second test will be played at Multan from Dec. 9-13 before England round off the tour with the final test at Karachi from Dec. 17-21. England had played a seven-match T20 series in Pakistan prior to the T20 World Cup in Australia where it went on to beat Pakistan in the final. England was due to tour Pakistan last year before the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates but abandoned the tour due to security concerns after New Zealand had aborted its tour to Pakistan just minutes before the toss in the first ODI at Rawalpindi. There were some concerns over England's test tour to Pakistan after former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was wounded in Wazirabad, a district in eastern Punjab province, during his protest again
