Yatharth Hospital and Trauma Care Services on Monday said it has acquired Faridabad-based Asian Fidelis Hospital for Rs 116 crore. The healthcare provider, which currently operates three super specialty hospitals in NCR (national capital region), has inked a definitive agreement with Pristine Infracon Pvt Ltd and its shareholders for the buyout. "This acquisition aligns with our company's strategy of expanding its footprint in the North India region," Yatharth Hospitals whole-time director Yatharth Tyagi said in a statement. The healthcare provider currently operates hospitals at Noida, Greater Noida and Noida Extension. Asian Fidelis Hospital comes with 175-bed capacity, which can be further expanded to 200 beds. Housing sales in Gurugram rose by 13 per cent annually in 2023 on high demand, especially for luxury flats, but Noida and Greater Noida saw a 7-8 per cent fall, according to Anarock data on the Delhi NCR market. Real estate consultant Anarock's data showed that sales of residential properties in Gurugram went up 13 per cent to 36,970 in 2023 from 32,615 units in the previous year. However, sales in Noida fell 8 per cent to 5,840 units from 6,360 units. Greater Noida saw a 7 per cent drop in sales to 10,180 units from 10,985 units. Ghaziabad, too, witnessed a fall of 8 per cent to 6,340 units from 6,890 units. The total housing sales in Faridabad, Delhi and Bhiwadi decreased to 6,295 units during 2023 from 6,860 units in the previous year. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar extended his best wishes on the occasion of Dhanteras at a function here on Friday, and highlighted the government's schemes aimed at empowering women. Speaking as the chief guest at the Dhanteras Mahila Samman Samaroh organised at Surajkund, Faridabad, Khattar said that women play an indispensable role during festivals. An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 struck Faridabad in Haryana at 4.08 pm on Sunday, the National Centre for Seismology said. It said the epicentre for the quake was nine kilometres east of Faridabad and 30 kilometres southeast of Delhi. The quake triggered panic among people, with many in Delhi and the National Capital Region reporting vigorous shaking of furniture.

The company said in a statement on Wednesday that it has "purchased 5.5 acre of land parcel in Sec76 in Faridabad from the Haryana government, following a payment of Rs 124 crore." Haryana on Friday reported 1,348 fresh coronavirus cases, over half of them from Gurugram and Faridabad, the two districts in the National Capital Region which have been fuelling the current surge in infections in the state. According to the state health department's bulletin, out of total fresh Covid infections, Gurugram reported 598 cases followed by 159 in Faridabad. Among other Haryana districts, Rohtak and Jind reported 89 cases each while Hisar, Panchkula and Jhajjar reported 68, 59 and 55 cases, respectively, according to the bulletin. The total number of active cases in the state was 5,468. According to the bulletin, Covid positivity rate in the state on Friday was 13.82 per cent. During the past over a fortnight, the state has seen a surge in the number of fresh infections, with most cases being reported from Gurugram and Faridabad districts.
