Haldiram Snack to invest Rs 300 cr in Bihar, MoU signed to set up plant

Haldiram Snack, a leading player in the packaged food industry, will invest Rs 300 crore in Bihar to set up a manufacturing unit, said a company official here on Friday. The company, which manufactures sweets, namkeen, bhujia , snacks and other food items, has signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Bihar government to make an investment of Rs 300 crore, said its Vice President Sanjay Singhania. "We are setting up a manufacturing plant for sweets, namkeens and snacks in Bihar. We will be investing Rs 300 crore," Haldiram Snacks Pvt Ltd Vice President Sanjay Singhania told PTI on the sidelines of Bihar Business Connect 2024. The Agarwal family-promoted company has acquired a 12-acre land at Sikanderpur in Bihta to set up this plant. "The plant will be operational by mid-2027," he added. More than 11,000 Saksham Anganwadi centres will be inaugurated virtually during the closing ceremony of this year's Poshan Maah campaign in Ranchi on Monday. Wardwizard Foods and Beverages, maker of frozen and ready-to-eat foods, on Monday announced its foray into the US market following the USFDA registration. The Vadodara, Gujarat-based company will commence exporting to US market in the first quarter of this fiscal, according to a statement from the company. Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages to invest Rs 350 crore in Rajgarh plant

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), the bottling arm of Coca-Cola in India, has announced a Rs 350 crore investment in Madhya Pradesh for setting up two manufacturing lines at its Rajgarh plant. The announcement, made during the Regional Industry Conclave in Ujjain, takes HCCB's total investment in the state to more than Rs 660 crore, according to a statement. "The fresh infusion of capital will see the introduction of 2 new, state-of-the-art manufacturing lines at HCCB's factory in Rajgarh, that will produce Affordable Small Sparkling Packs (ASSP) and Juice Tetra Packs," the statement said. The expansion will not only boost HCCB's manufacturing capabilities but also significantly contribute to the state's economy, it added. The Madhya Pradesh government has assured support to facilitate HCCB in obtaining all necessary permissions, approvals and clearances in a time-bound manner.
