A well-known private healthcare group, Fortis on Friday inaugurated a state-of-the-art facility for the specialised treatment of blood cancers and disorders, which it said "represented a critical step" in addressing the urgent need for comprehensive holistic care. The Fortis Institute of Blood Disorders also integrates paediatric and geriatric care, advanced transplant procedures, and hematopathology expertise, all under one roof, Fortis Healthcare said in a release. The Institute also launched CAR-T cell therapy to its extensive network of Bone Marrow Transplant centres in Mohali, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai and Bangalore, the statement said. Fortis Healthcare on Monday said it has tied up with emergency response network RED.Health to offer end-to-end emergency services. The collaboration is driven by a shared vision to provide end-to-end emergency services within the minimum response time and reduce trauma and fatalities during medical emergencies, the healthcare major said in a statement. The scope of the collaboration spans across seven branches of Fortis Hospitals in Delhi/NCR, it added. As part of the collaboration, RED.Health will deploy 10 dedicated GPS-enabled advanced life support (ALS) ambulances and also support patient logistics with an independent fleet of over 30 vehicles in NCR, ensuring that ambulances reach patients within around 10 to 30 minutes, it said. Additionally, a concierge will be available at each hospital for better coordination between the patient and the ambulance, it added. Malaysia's IHH Healthcare on Friday said it is ready to proceed with its stalled open offer for 26.1 per cent stake in Fortis once capital markets regulator SEBI gives it a go-ahead. The company, which currently is the largest shareholder in Fortis with a 31.17 per cent stake, said it remains fully committed to Fortis and India. "We certainly understand the frustration Fortis investors have felt over the past four years around the uncertainty of the IHH open offer. With the recent Supreme Court judgement ruling making clear that we have conducted our investment into Fortis in a fair and transparent manner, we are discussing with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to move ahead with the offer," IHH Healthcare Managing Director and CEO Kelvin Loh said in a statement. The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear during the day itself a plea seeking grant of interim bail to former promoter of Fortis Healthcare Ltd Malvinder Mohan Singh in view of the critical condition of his wife.
