Locks and security solutions company Godrej Locks has said it aims to increase market share from 30 per cent to 50 per cent in three years, riding on a new range of affordable products and reduced prices of existing ones. Shyam Motwani, business head for Godrej Locks and architectural and systems, said the company's newly-launched products are over 50 per cent affordable than the existing locks, while efforts have been undertaken to make the existing locks cheaper by 7-8 per cent. The company will rely on new affordable range and price cuts in the existing locks to achieve the objective of having the dominant market share in around three years, Motwani told PTI. Godrej & Boyce is aiming to invest about Rs 40 crore over the next three years to expand its distribution footprint for its consumer brands in the tier-II and tier-III cities. The fresh investments by the company, which sells interior solutions, furniture, appliances and locks, will see its footprint getting doubled to more than 400 towns by FY27, a senior official has said. "G&B plans to spend around Rs 10-15 crore every year on store expansion and renovation for the next three years," a company spokesperson told PTI. The Bombay High Court on Monday directed the Maharashtra government to decide within a month an application filed by Godrej & Boyce company seeking enhancement of compensation awarded to it for acquisition of its land in suburban Vikhroli for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. Godrej & Boyce on Monday said it is investing an additional Rs 300 crore at its facility in Gujarat's Dahej to double revenues from the process equipment arm by FY25. Godrej Process Equipment (GPE) is investing to strengthen presence in the hydrogen and power sectors for delivery of specialised and large equipment for which Rs 300 crore investment is being made, according to an official statement. The expansion will increase the manufacturing area by approximately 25,000 square metres, it said, adding that at present it serves client needs in the oil and gas, chemicals and fertilizers, and power sectors. The facility, commissioned in 2016, houses units to manufacture and deliver over-dimensional consignments for global projects, it said. Godrej & Boyce has bagged a Rs 468 crore order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India to supply steam generators for 700 MW pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWR) project. The company's process equipment division will be supplying the generators for the indigenous project and is the biggest order for the division yet, Godrej & Boyce said in a statement. Steam generators are critical equipment in a nuclear power plant for generating clean (non-fossil) and reliable source of power for baseload requirements, the statement said. The generators will be manufactured at the company's facility in Dahej, Gujarat.
