State-owned NBCC on Tuesday said it has sold 1,233 housing units for Rs 3,217 crore through e-auction in a new project at Greater Noida, a development that will help the company complete stalled projects of the erstwhile Amrapali Group. As per the direction of the Supreme Court, Amrapali Stalled Projects Investments Reconstruction Establishment (ASPIRE) was formed to complete the stuck projects of Amrapali through NBCC (India) Ltd. The state-owned firm was asked to complete 38,000 flats and hand it over to homebuyers. In a statement, NBCC said it has "successfully sold 1,233 residential units at Aspire Golf Homes through an e-auction, garnering a total sale value of Rs 3,216.95 crore excluding allied charges". The project 'Aspire Gold Homes' has in total 1,507 flats across 11 towers. NBCC has earlier sold 274 units. The National Green Tribunal has observed that the illegal felling of 980 trees in Greater Noida was not taken seriously by the Uttar Pradesh authorities, and asked the principal chief conservator of forest to appear virtually before it on May 13 to apprise it on the action taken. The green body was hearing a plea alleging unauthorised felling of a large number of trees in Greater Noida's DCM (Daewoo Motors) company premises which had been shut for the last 22 years. Observing that a significant number of trees have been cut, a bench of NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava said that after an inspection by the forest officers, 980 trees were found to be cut and that action had only been taken against two vehicles transporting timber from the illegally cut trees. Real estate company Nirala World has bought 2.5 acre land in Greater Noida to develop a 8 lakh square feet commercial project to meet rising demand of office and retail spaces. In a statement, Nirala World said the company bought this land through an auction, from Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). It has won bid to acquire a 10,400 square metre (2.5 acre) commercial land parcel worth Rs 175 crore. "We recently purchased a land parcel in Greater Noida West through an auction process," said Suresh Garg, Chairman and Managing Director of Nirala World. He said the company will develop its second commercial project in Greater Noida. Garg said the project will have retail spaces, high street, food court, multiplex, office spaces. The total development potential in this project will be 7.87 lakh square feet. A fire broke out following an explosion at a chemical plant in the Badalpur area of Greater Noida early Sunday morning, officials said, adding around two dozen fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire at the Shri Banke Bihari Chemical Plant on Dujana Road was put out after more than seven hours of intense fire fighting, the officials said, adding no one was injured but the factory has suffered massive damages. It was not immediately clear what caused the fire. Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar said the blaze broke out around 3 am and the factory workers tried to douse it using the equipment they had at their disposal, but it could not be contained. The workers evacuated the premises and the fire department was informed. A thick column of black smoke, visible from a distance, billowed into the sky from from the factory. Considering the plight of the hassled homebuyers, the Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to submit a proposal for grievance redressal and imposed Rs 5 lakh cost on it for failing to file a timely response. A bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar expressed dissatisfaction over the approach of GNIDA and said, "You are responsible for the mess. Of course, developers made money from the homebuyers. But that does not condone your acts. The bench said it may order a CBI probe into the whole "mess" if the GNIDA did not come up with a plan to redress the grievances of the homebuyers. "You come up with a plan in 10 days otherwise we will order a CBI investigation...You will have to ensure that interests of homebuyers are safeguarded. You are also part of the problem. Realty firm Gaurs Group has sold nearly 200 apartments in its new luxury housing projects in Greater Noida for Rs 1,300 crore amid strong consumer demand. Gaurs Group has launched a luxury residential project 'Legacy by Gaurs', comprising around 250 units, at Jaypee Greens, Greater Noida. "The first phase of the project has generated Rs 1,300 crore in sales, with nearly 200 apartments sold," the company said in a statement on Saturday. The project features spacious residences in two configurations: 3,500 sq ft and 4,700 sq ft, across four towers, comprising a total of about 250 apartments. Realty firm Gaurs Group will invest about Rs 750 crore to develop a luxury housing project in Greater Noida to expand its business amid strong demand for residential properties. Gaurs Group Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Gaur said the company will develop around 250 units in this new housing project. "We will soon be launching a new housing project in Greater Noida. The project will have 12 lakh square feet of developable area," he told PTI. Asked about project cost, Gaur said it will be around Rs 750 crore, including land and construction costs. The company had bought this land located at Jaypee Greens in Greater Noida from banks. Registration of residential properties in Noida and Greater Noida rose 29 per cent annually in the June quarter to 8,212 units, according to housing brokerage firm Square Yards. As many as 6,354 units were registered in the year-ago period. Residential real estate activity in Noida and Greater Noida saw a marked uptick in the June quarter of 2024, with 8,212 residential transactions registered with the Inspector General of Registration (IGR). "The combined sales value of these transactions reached Rs 6,013 crore, representing a 59 per cent year-on-year surge, outpacing the growth in transaction volume," the consultant said in a statement. In Noida, Square Yards said that 3,200 units were registered during the April-June period against 2,408 units a year ago. Greater Noida saw a 27 per cent increase in registration of residential properties at 5,012 units compared to 3,946 units in the corresponding period of the previous year. A woman here has claimed she has found a centipede inside an ice-cream tub she ordered through an instant delivery app, said food safety officials, who have launched a probe into the matter. In a post on X on June 15, the woman, who identified herself as Deepa Devi, shared a picture showing the insect inside the ice-cream tub. "Finding an insect inside my Amul India ice cream was truly alarming. Quality control and food safety should never be compromised. The board of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Saturday approved a proposal to increase land allocation rates by 5.30 per cent for 2024-25 fiscal, according to an official statement. Several developmental projects, including the Greater Noida West Metro, Multimodal Logistics Hub, and Transport Hub, are coming to Greater Noida and Greater Noida West (also known as Noida Extension), the GNIDA said. "In view of these developmental projects, property allocation rates are determined for each financial year. The board has approved the proposal to increase the current allocation rates for industrial, residential, commercial, institutional, and builder properties by 5.30 per cent for the fiscal year 2024-25," it said.
